I believe this was Dolly Parton & "I Will Always love You"? Elvis wanted to record it, but the Col said any song Elvis recorded he has to have songwrtiting credits & half of all royalties, or something like that

I believe Diamond Rio at one time went under the name of the tennessee river boys? or this was an early incarnation?

Well remembered Moshe :) Before that they were called Grizzly River Boys, or so I,ve read.
Don't remember any of the two past groups though, but I have enjoyed Diamond Rio and seen them live on a couple or three occasions.

The song I have in mind is most associated with Bette Midler. In some movie, apparently. LeAnn included it on her "You light Up My Life" album
